In the previous projects on stip based bistable systems, heating was particularty difficult to apply uniformly. In this project, the heating was completely omitted and the flat strips are attached directly applying glue at the ends, which makes the unit pre-stressed as the strips are naturally straight but in the unit they are forced to adopt curved shape due to internal forces acting on the joints.

In this work, I proposed a simple modeling technique using stiff springs to capture prestress in DER framework which is illustrated below.

I also developed a simple Boundary Value Problem (BVP) formulation that can predict the two stable shapes.
